You will be picked up from your hotel, Nile cruise or the airport by one of Gem Explore's Egyptologists. You'll have a road trip to El Fayoum which is 145 KM away from Cairo. You will arrive to Wadi El Rayan. Wadi El-Rayan is a natural depression in the western desert of Egypt, 42m below the sea level. It consists of two lakes connected by Egypt's only waterfall. It was designated as a Protected Area in 1989 to protect the area's biological, geological and cultural resources. The Protected Area covers 1759 km2 in the southern part of El-Fayoum. The waterfalls are one of the best known attractions in Wadi El- Rayan Protected Area. The area conserves large expanses of desert containing a variety of landscapes and formations. Rare and fascinating wild life is found in the desert of Wadi El- Rayan along with fossils of creatures of past epochs and cultural heritage sites from ancient civilizations.
You will start with Wadi Al-Hitan, Whale Valley, in the Western Desert of Egypt. Which contains invaluable fossil remains of the earliest, and now extinct, suborder of whales, Archaeoceti. These fossils represent one of the major stories of evolution: the emergence of the whale as an ocean-going mammal from a previous life as a land-based animal. This is the most important site in the world for the demonstration of this stage of evolution.
On your way to the waterfall, you will visit the unusual Arabian palaces and (Jebel al- Mudawara), located to the west of Al Fayoum Lake. Although it is more of a rock formation than a true mountain, there are three distinct summits, with another lower point or two to the west. Its layered appearance is beautiful, with a certain symmetry to the feature that draws your gaze to it.
The Magic Lake is a beautiful lake located in Wadi El Rayan in Fayoum. It was named the Magic lake as it changes its colours several times a day depending on the time of year and the amount of sunlight it receives. It is an amazingly beautiful place surrounded by desert , not only that but you will enjoy amazing activity the sand boarding in wonderful dunes surrounding the Magic lake .
Finally, you will have lunch at a local restaurant then escorted back to Cairo and dropped off at your requested location.
