This private tour includes Pick-Up with our air-conditioned vehicles at your requested location, and Drop Off at your requested location. You will be picked up from your hotel, Nile cruise or the airport by one of Gem Explore's Egyptologists. You'll visit the temple of Horus, which is one of the best-preserved ancient monuments in Egypt. Preserved by desert sand, which filled the place after the pagan cult was banned, the temple is dedicated to Horus, the avenging son of Isis and Osiris. With its roof intact, it is also one of the most atmospheric of ancient buildings.
Next, you will continue with visiting the City of Gold, Kom Ombo to visit the magnificent and unusual double temple with its duplicated halls, courts and sanctuaries for the two gods Sobek and Haroeris. The building is unique because its 'double' design meant that there were courts, halls, sanctuaries, and rooms duplicated for two sets of gods.
Later on, you will head to Egypt's ancient center for the cult of Isis, the Temples of Philae. They were venerated from the Pharaonic era through the Greek, Roman, and Byzantine periods with each ruler making their own additions to the stones there.
This sacred site has dazzled travelers since the first Nile cruises set off from Cairo and is one of Nubia's most important monument sites.
Finally, you will visit Aswan's High Dam, which is the world's largest embankment dam. It was built across the Nile in Aswan, Egypt, between 1960 and 1970. With it's ability to better control flooding, provide increased water storage for irrigation and generate hydroelectricity the dam was seen as pivotal to Egypt's planned industrialization.
After your tour, you will be escorted back to your hotel in Luxor.
