This tour is for the road trip lovers, as Alexandria is 220km away from Cairo. Alexandria was the center of the ancient Mediterranean world for a long time, and was once Egypt’s Capital. It used to hold one of the ancient Seven Wonders of the Ancient World: the great lighthouse of Alexandria.
The tour’s start time is flexible, but usually the tour starts around 7 AM, takes a duration of ten hours, and ends around 5 PM. This private tour includes Pick-Up with our air-conditioned vehicles at your requested location, and Drop Off at your requested location. Pick Up from Requested Location by GEM Explore Egyptologist to start your Journey from Cairo to Alexandria. As Alexandria is 200km away, the trip usually takes 2-3 hours so you will arrive at 10 AM.
The tour will start in Alexandria by visiting the Roman Theatre, which is also known as Roman Amphitheatre. The Roman Amphitheatre is the center of Kom ELdikka archaeological site, with its white-marbled seating that has a space of 600 seats. Then, the tour continues by visiting The Catacomb of Kom EL-Shoqafa, which is the largest and most important burial site in Egypt, and was considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World in the middle ages. The Catacomb is an ancient circular staircase that leads into tombs that were tunneled into the bedrock during the age of the Antonine emperors.
The tour continues by visiting Alexandria Bibliotheca, which is a major library and a cultural center on the Mediterranean sea. Then, you visit the Qaitbay Castle from the outside, and finally stop at El Morsi Abo EL Abbas Mosque.
Finally, the tour finishes usually at 7PM by dropping off the Customer at the same Pick Up location or a nearby area.
